Congratulations, Lynley! Finally it's out! I loved beta-reading the various stages and the final one is a wonderful follow-up to Scars!
This is my absolute favorite story, Lynley, you know it! From the first version this stayed with me. Such a powerful read! I'm so glad that this will be released soon! Can't wait to read it again:)

What a nice start of the series! I really like Ms. Andor's writing and this was another joy to read. Off to start part 2.
September Pick-It-For-Me-Challenge, picked by K.This book was forever on my TBR. Kate managed to find it for my challenge and it really was a story out of my comfort zone. Historical and then ghosts on top of that:) Well, I started reading and couldn't get into it so I put it aside again - until a few days ago. Suddenly it clicked and I was totally into it! Finally a book telling a real story! It was a long book and on the one hand it felt as if I was reading it forever, on the other hand I didn't want it to end.
I liked how Morgan and Nash started out as not really liking each other, only to gradually move on to realizing that there was attraction, indeed:) I liked that this was about their getting to know each other, while searching for the book to get Morgan back to his own time and life and in between starting to work on the serial murder case. I liked that there was no explicit sex in this book, totally keeping it in the mindset of the time the story was set. I liked the secondary characters, a lot! And I especially liked the ending *sigh* Simply wonderful!
Anything I didn't like? Nope, therefore 5 stars.
So, thank you, Kate, for choosing this book for me and thank you Ms. Allen for writing such a wonderful story.

Donovan|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1311358570s/11757362.jpg|16707740], thinking I'll get more insight to their vacation in Miami. But nope, it was more an insight into Mac's thoughts while having drinks at a bar. On top of that this story ends at about 76% on my kindle.
Finished and not sure how to rate it. For the longest time it was a 5 star read, until it became clear that the mystery/crime won't be solved. Ok, I haven't read any reviews for this book, I try to avoid that before finishing a book as I totally hate spoilers. That said, I knew that the author called this 'ensemble serial with continuing story lines', but silly me expected their relationship to be the ongoing story line with the added plus of crimes solved, like 'Bones' or 'CSI'. Yes, now I know how wrong that was.I liked the writing style, I liked Mac, I liked the backstories of Mac and Sam, at least the bits we got to know, I liked Mac's dealing with Sam, I didn't like Sam's dealing with Mac, he was rather impossible and Mac was much too nice. I didn't like Mac's family at all, I didn't like the amount of characters in this story, it got confusing for this reader. I didn't like repetitive phrases - if I read one more time 'f**k him/you through the mattress' I might throw my kindle, at least across my couch:).
Nevertheless the writing got me to read on, wanting to know the solution of the crime and how the MCs got to their happy ending, at least a HFN.
When it became clear, both most probably won't happen I did what I normally try to avoid like the plague - I had a peek at the end of [b:Six Degrees of Separation|17791950|Six Degrees of Separation (By Degrees, #2)|Taylor V. Donovan|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1370127412s/17791950.jpg|24885423] and now I'm an even less happy camper as it looks like even then the crimes of this book aren't solved. Well, what I don't like besides spoilers are cliffhanger and now I'm not sure how to proceed - reading on as the story line now is fresh in my mind, knowing there will be no solution, or waiting til the final installment will be released, whenever that might be (how many books are there to come?) and then having forgotten most of the content of this book and the next?
With regard to all that, I stick to 3 stars.
3.5 starsIt took me long enough to read it. Somehow it didn't really grab me. Finally I stuck to it, but still it was just an ok read for me. Nothing was really missing, it was a nice story, but nothing was really wow about it as well. In the end I finished with a nice enough feeling, but I'm not sure whether I'll read the next book in this series.

More like 4.5 starsI liked it a lot - it was a fast-paced story, Matt and Kira together were very hot and their being in the closet together was engaging to read. The bad guys were bad, the good ones were very good. Ok, the twin development was clear for quite some time until finally the cops get the idea as well. In the end everything worked out, their coming out was more in passing and even their dealing with the aftermath of their ordeal wasn't glossed over, much:) So, yes a very good read and for all the time I didn't read it, now I'm thinking - perhaps I should have waited another few weeks, only to then read it back-to-back with part two of the story. Oh, well, can't be helped. It will stay for me til then, that I'm sure of.
No idea what to write about it - I'm a happy reader right now:) What a wonderful finish to the series. *sigh*
I liked it, but overall it felt a bit unbalanced. Lots of stuff and facts given and on the other hand just glossed over, quite some telling and a rushed ending.
Very nice, heartfelt and warm story and one that had me embracing my kindle with so much more love! Imagine all the batches of books I am spared:) Yes, I totally felt with Jasper, might be because the author chose a book hoarding fellow - we all can relate to that, can't we? But nevertheless, the way he finally faced his problem, calling for help, falling for Lewis and knowing exactly what he wanted - despite Lewis 'I'm so professional, this can't be true' attitude, yes, simply heartwarming. Ok, there were no real ups and downs, no 'nail-biting-what-will-happen-next', but I was in the mood for a just-nicely-flowing-along kind of story and this was exactly that. Very satisfying.
A very good, engaging read. I had a lot of fun reading it, well-balanced, an interesting crime, already solved at about 60% and then I asked myself - so, what's to come during the remaining 40%? Well, their life obviously was going on and we reader got to accompany them. Which was fine for a change, even a threesome was in the cards. Only in the end it somehow trickled away, no highs, no downs, it could have went on for pages and pages. Suddenly it stopped. Perhaps a chapter less would have been nicer. Nevertheless, I would like to visit Brent and Shawn again, perhaps a year down the line, trying for a child or already being parents.
